Late last month, Netflix released a 30 minute teaser for the third season of Narcos: Mexico. The streaming network previously announced that lead actor for season one and two, Diego Luna (Felix Gallardo) won't be returning for the third installment of the series. The end of the second season saw Gallardo finally arrested and tried by the DEA after frustrating intermittent setbacks.
Netflix has announced an update on the cast of Narcos: Mexico and some of the new faces include new guest stars for Season 3: Yessica Borroto as Marta, Damayanti Quintanar as Hortencia, Manuel Uriza as Carlos Hank Gonzalez, Markin Lopez as Rogelio, and Bad Bunny (Latino singer, rapper, and songwriter) whose real name is Benito Martinez Ocasio (First acting debut). Bad Bunny will play Arturo Paez, a member of Ramon Felix’s gang called the “Narco Juniors,” a group of rich, well connected kids from upper echelon of the society who fell in with the cartel life for the money, drugs and violence. Mendez, Guerra and Rubino are also one of the biggest additions to the cast this season.
Mendez will play Victor Tapia, a Juarez cop. Guerra has been cast as Ismael Zambada, an independent drug trafficker (of course, lol). Rubino will play Andrea Nunez, a young ambitious journalist (oh, lest I forget, she's female).
For fans of Narcos and its spin-off, Narcos: Mexico, it's no news that the series focuses on the illegal drug trade in Mexico, whereas the parent series (Narcos) centered on the illegal drug trade in Colombia (that's the one on Pablo Escobar; you're welcome). If you have not started any of the aforementioned series before, the best time is now but if you hate action, some drug cartel violence or gore, I'm duly sorry, it's not for you. Icing on the cake: It's loosely based on real events.
